Richel has been active in China since 1995 and is looking for a result driven Technical Sales Engineer to reinforce the team in China.



As part of the strategy defined by the company and under the responsibility of the Sales Manager, your mission will be: 1 - to develop greenhouse projects sales in China to existing growers, new investors and direct or indirect governmental projects and 2 - to follow up the construction.

The greenhouse projects sales consists in supplying the greenhouse and its equipment (irrigation, heating, climate control computer and other equipment). Each project is different and is defined together with the customer. The position gives a motivating unique responsibility as you are in charge of projects of up to several millions Euros from beginning to end.

The different parts of the mission are :

  • Prospect, appreciate the real feasibility of the project, define the needs of the customer, navigate through the various parties involved in the decision, gather the adequate information, work with Richel or Richel’s supplier engineers when necessary, prepare the technical and commercial proposal, present the offer to the customer, close the sale, negociate the financial and contractual part of the project.
  • Follow the installation of the project to make sure the construction is executed smoothly, on time and on quality (project management with the Installation teams and Richel Engineering Teams), support the French Sourcing Team in the project of setting up the China Local Supply Chain, be the interface for after sales services.


Qualities required

To accomplish this mission and as each project is specific, you will present the following qualities in order to prepare the best offer and close the deal:

You demonstrate a firm capacity for closing sales. You navigate elegantly and efficiently through the Chinese way of conducting business at all level.
  • Technical skills : technical skills and curiosity are a key of the success in order to elaborate the best offer to answer customer’s needs. Many options are available in terms of greenhouse structures, ventilation, irrigations systems, water treatment, hot air or warm water heating, shading screens etc. You like to understand and compare technical advantages of each system. You gather information from the customer and from his environment. You consult your sales manager and our engineers and suppliers of equipment. You confront ideas. You think return of investment and business plan for the customer.



Education : Bachelor or Master Engineering Degree in a greenhouse related field such as Horticulture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Water System Engineering Etc.

Professional Experience : 3 to 7 years work experience in either

  • Function: Technical Sales or Project Management / Engineering in a customer facing role
  • Industry: Construction, horticulture industry, or other industry involving thermal, irrigation or electric systems

Location : home office possible. Travel time will represent around 50% of the working time.


  • Language: Native Chinese Speaker, Fluent English, French is a plus
  • Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Autocad or equivalent is a plus
  • Knowledge of MS Project is a plus
  • Professional certification in Sales, Project Management or Engineering, is a plus
