Sunflower seeds
Corteva already had two greenhouses dedicated to sunflower cultivation, covering a total area of one hectare. Seeking to expand their cultivation area, they enlisted the expertise of Richel’s teams for this third, highly technological greenhouse.
This greenhouse was specifically designed by our Engineering Department to withstand Seville’s high temperatures. The white coating on the posts minimizes heat absorption, helping to maintain optimal temperature and light levels inside the greenhouse. With an eave height of 5.50 meters and a greenhouse volume of 12.80 meters, this design ensures excellent ventilation and facilitates climate control within the greenhouse. This configuration helps mitigate the effects of high temperatures while creating an environment ideal for sunflower growth.
Since sunflowers thrive in dry, warm conditions, Corteva entrusted us to install a hot water heating system in the new greenhouse as well as in the existing ones to achieve the best possible growing conditions, even during winter. This new hot water heating system is an excellent alternative to the previously installed hot air heating, reducing energy consumption.
Impressed by Richel Group’s reputation and solutions, Corteva trusted us with this turnkey project, conducted in compliance with the safety standards expected of a renowned international seed company. The responsiveness and availability of our teams, along with our in-depth market knowledge, enabled us to design tailored solutions perfectly suited to the specifics of the Corteva project.
Richel’s teams are proud to support their clients in their ambitious projects and contribute to greener, more sustainable agriculture.
