In July 2021, Bioplants inaugurated its new production site in Les Ponts-de-Cé: 15,000m2 of greenhouses and 4,000m2 of logistical buildings. Built on non-arable land, the site embodies a commitment to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The goal was to double production capacity to meet growing demand, thanks to a state-of-the-art production facility.
This project came to fruition through their collaboration with Richel Group, which designed and built a 1.4-hectare Venlo greenhouse dedicated to the cultivation of organic aromatic plants.
For the realization of this project, Richel won an open competition, demonstrating its expertise among various greenhouse constructors. This success stemmed from close collaboration and several years of dialogue, which enabled the design of a tailor-made greenhouse precisely meeting the client’s needs, its environment, and its crops, from project definition to delivery.
This collaboration formed the cornerstone of an integrated system of high technical standards. The challenge was to integrate automation with essential equipment such as heating, irrigation, and the structure of the greenhouse itself. Each of the three sectors had to be independent while ensuring optimal sealing between them. Richel committed not only to providing the greenhouse but also to designing a complex production system.
Beyond a simple greenhouse construction project, this partnership embodies an alliance based on eco-responsible values. Aromatic herbs are cultivated without pesticides, and rainwater is reused thanks to the deployed structure. A partnership towards an agricultural future where innovation and respect for nature go hand in hand.
On behalf of the Richel Group, we would like to express our gratitude to Angel Rodriguez and Anne-Louise Caslot for their exemplary collaboration and trust.
