The city of Riyadh sought the expertise of Richel Group for the implementation of the Green Riyadh nursery. The initial phase of this plan led to the establishment of a 2500m² germination and propagation greenhouse, serving as the starting point for tree and shrub production for the project.

The nursery represents the first step in the transformation process, turning seeds into young plants ready for transplantation in the external acclimatization greenhouses. Supplied by Richel, this Venlo-type greenhouse covers an area of 2500 m², divided into two distinct zones, and is fully covered with polycarbonate, providing optimal protection for growing plants.

The development of this greenhouse by our in-house engineering team demonstrates Richel’s commitment to addressing local environmental challenges and meeting the specific requirements of the Green Riyadh project. The greenhouse is equipped with an evaporative cooling system, ensuring an optimal environment during the hot summer months. Additionally, it has been designed to withstand Riyadh’s cold nights with hot air generators and 16mm insulated polycarbonate.

Light management is a priority within a nursery. The greenhouse features a dual shading and thermal screen system, allowing precise modulation of light radiation, maintaining a constant climate inside the greenhouse, and protecting plants from direct radiation. This contributes to the healthy growth of the vegetation.
